Upcoming Vipassana Centre in Udupi district of Karnataka
Dhamma is slowly but surely spreading in the Coastal belt of Western India. In January 2018,the Udupi (Karnataka) Vipassana Trust purchased a land of about 5 acres, in Shivpura near Hebri, Udupi (formally a rubber plantation area), for development into a Vipassana meditation Centre to accommodate 100-125 students. The Centre has been given the name - Dhamma Nadī ( River of Dhamma).
In March 2022, all approvals were received from the authorities and construction is now expected to begin shortly. The following work is being taken up in the first phase of the project:
Levelling and Pitching work
Dhamma Hall with a capacity of 125 students
Few Male and Female residences
Vipassana Meditators are welcome to donate to this project. You are also welcome to give dana by meditating on this Dhamma Land and strengthening the Dhamma atmosphere. Currently One Day courses are being held every Sunday at the Centre
Donations to the Trust are covered for tax exemption under 80-G of Income Tax Act.
